Salam alaykoum wa rahmatu-Llah wa barakatuh,
In Islam, believing in prophets is among the pillars of faith (al-īmān). Allah sent many messengers to guide humanity, from Noah to our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, including Abraham, Moses, and Jesus – peace be upon them all.
Through their stories, we discover signs, miracles, and teachings that strengthen our faith.
Let's explore together, through 7 questions and answers, some significant stories of the prophets mentioned in the Quran.
1️⃣ Who received the revelation in the cave of Hira?
👉 Our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
It was in the cave of Hira, near Mecca, that the angel Jibril (Gabriel) brought him the first verses of the Quran:
“Read! In the Name of your Lord Who created. He created man from a clinging substance. Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous. Who taught by the pen. Taught man that which he knew not.”
Surah Al-‘Alaq (96), verses 1-5

2️⃣ Who built the Kaaba?
👉 Ibrahim (Abraham) and Ismail (peace be upon them)
The Kaaba, the center of our Qibla and the first place of worship, was rebuilt by Ibrahim and his son Ismail.
“And when Abraham and Ishmael were raising the foundations of the House, [Abraham prayed], “Our Lord, accept from us. Indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.””
Surah Al-Baqarah (2), verse 127
3️⃣ Who was resurrected with his donkey and his food?
👉 Uzayr (peace be upon him)
Allah caused Uzayr to die for a hundred years, then resurrected him with his donkey and his food, to show His power.
“Then Allah caused him to die for a hundred years; then He revived him. (...) Look at your food and your drink; it has not changed with time. And look at your donkey…”
Surah Al-Baqarah (2), verse 259
4️⃣ Who spoke to animals, jinn, and controlled the wind?
👉 Sulayman (Solomon, peace be upon him)
Allah granted him a unique kingdom, knowledge of the creatures' languages, and control over the wind.
“O people, we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given of all things. Indeed, this is evident grace.”
Surah An-Naml (27), verse 16
“And to Sulayman [We subjected] the wind - its morning [journey was that of] a month, and its afternoon [journey was that of] a month.”
Surah Saba (34), verse 12
5️⃣ Who received the Zabur and recited the praises of Allah with birds and mountains?
👉 Dawud (David, peace be upon him)
He had a magnificent voice for dhikr and was granted the Book of Praises, the Zabur.
“And We certainly gave David grace from Us. [We said], “O mountains, repeat [praises with him], and the birds.””
Surah Sad (38), verses 17-20
“And to David We gave the Zabur.”
Surah Al-Isra (17), verse 55
6️⃣ Who healed the sick, the blind, and brought the dead back to life by Allah's permission?
👉 ‘Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him)
He was sent with great miracles, but always "by Allah's permission."
“And I heal the blind [from birth] and the leper, and I give life to the dead - by permission of Allah.”
Surah Al-‘Imran (3), verse 49“And when you healed the blind [from birth] and the leper by My permission; and when you brought forth the dead by My permission.”
Surah Al-Ma’idah (5), verse 110
7️⃣ Who was saved from Pharaoh, raised in his palace, and received the Torah?
👉 Musa (Moses, peace be upon him)
While Pharaoh feared the birth of a prophet among the Children of Israel, Allah protected Moses and made him a great messenger.
“And We inspired to the mother of Moses, “Suckle him; but when you fear for him, cast him into the river and do not fear and do not grieve. Indeed, We will return him to you and make him one of the messengers.””
Surah Al-Qasas (28), verse 7“So the family of Pharaoh picked him up [out of the river] that he might be to them an enemy and a [cause of] grief. Indeed, Pharaoh and Haman and their soldiers were sinners.”
Surah Al-Qasas (28), verse 8“And the wife of Pharaoh said, “[He will be] a comfort of the eye for me and for you. Do not kill him; perhaps he may benefit us, or we may adopt him as a son.” And they perceived not.”
Surah Al-Qasas (28), verse 9
🌙 Conclusion: believing in all prophets
Allah sent many prophets to call people to worship Him without associating any partners with Him. But the Children of Israel rejected these prophets, treating some as liars or killing them, then refusing the Quran which came to confirm their scriptures., but the Muslim believer must accept and love each of them without distinction.
“We make no distinction between any of His messengers.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah, v.285)
Rejecting a single prophet is tantamount to rejecting Allah’s revelation. Our faith is not complete until we believe in all the prophets and their messages, up to Muhammad ﷺ, the seal of the prophets, our messenger.
